S E A completed the design and construction of the new $2.3 million Adams Visitor Center in Adams, MA. The new building houses a small museum and administrative functions and has a "rail trail" rest area for bicyclists. The design respects the mill architecture of the adjacent buildings by utilizing a brick façade and heavy timber construction. The building is oriented to permit striking views of Mount Greylock. Sustainable design features include a ground water heat pump HVAC system and the use of geo-piers to minimize disruption of contaminated soils.
