S E A was selected by DCAM to prepare an RFP for design/build for the $22 million Women's Correctional Facility in Holyoke, MA. The project was particularly challenging since it involved the leveling of a large hill to accommodate the new prison. Significant civil/site design work was required to make the grades workable without incurring enormous additional costs to the project. The prison consists of several housing pods which are interconnected and organized around an open recreational courtyard. Full service dining and support facilities are also attached to the facility.

S E A's scope of work included the development of the schematic design approach, development of all RFP bid documents including specifications and drawings, and assistance with contractor/designer submittals. S E A will also act as an independent resource to DCAM during the construction to help with shop drawing reviews, testing reviews,
