Invisible campus

S E A’s Materials Management team finds creative ways to take the unsightly and unintended impacts of core services – truck traffic, loading docks, storage facilities, materials distributions and waste removal—and locate them out of sight. The more invisible the service network is, the greener the campus can be.

S E A coined the the term Invisible Campus© to describe the desire of campuses to have highly efficient delivery of goods and services as discretely as possible with a minimal environmental footprint. In this way service vehicles are kept out of view by employing grade changes, screen walls, and designated service drives and vehicles.

We strive to create sustainable campuses by creating an Invisible Campus©, the place where efficient operations can take place for deliveries, maintenance, recycling, and other vital services. We have utilized this unique approach at Harvard, Yale, PENN, Columbia, Brown, RISD, Duke, and other campuses across the country.
