S E A provided the design for renovations and additions to this DPW facility which included a new brick facade, HVAC, and lighting systems and a new elevator addition to accommodate barrier-free access. The existing maintenance and storage garage bays were also upgraded including new overhead doors, mechanical/electrical systems, a wash bay, and roofs. Since the complex shares the site with one of the Town's historic buildings, all exterior renovations had to be designed with sensitivity to the history of the Town. The project went from schematic design to bid documents in only 8 weeks in order to have contractor prices available for town meeting approval. The final bid price was within 1% of the client's budgeted funds.
